Job summary

Pacific Dermatology Institute is seeking a Back Office Medical Assistant to support dermatology clinical operations. The role involves preparing rooms, assisting with procedures, and documenting patient information in the EMR.

You will work closely with providers to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality care. Candidates should have a Medical Assistant Certification and 2 years’ clinic experience; dermatology exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Certification Program; National Certification preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a medical clinic setting; dermatology experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support and First Aid certifications preferred.
  • ICD-10 and CPT coding knowledge encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Assist office manager with back-office operations.
  • Prepare rooms and instruments for procedures and biopsies.
  • Aide providers during medical and surgical procedures and patient education.
  • Scribe patient information in EMR with history, complaints, and Rx details.
  • Maintain sterilization logs and inventory of medical supplies.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, non-exempt position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Long hours and occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.TravelThis position requires up to 50% travel.
