Ciklum is seeking a Back End JavaScript Developer to join our Czech-based team full-time. You will work in a cross-functional squad delivering end-to-end backend services for large-scale fraud detection projects.

The role emphasizes autonomy, code quality, and scalable architectures, with hybrid/remote options across Czech offices. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in backend development, strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and hands-on AWS experience with serverless architectures.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software development experience focused on backend engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
• Solid AWS experience including API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB with IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience building event-driven microservices, preferably with Serverless Framework.
• Proficiency in NoSQL (DynamoDB) and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), Docker, and Kubernetes.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and senior backend engineers to own features end-to-end.
• Design and implement high-volume, scalable backend services for fraud detection using TypeScript.
• Develop secure, distributed cloud services in an event-driven microservices architecture.
• Contribute to code reviews and architectural discussions to improve health and performance.
• Participate in deployment, monitoring, and production maintenance.

You will join a cross-functional squad that takes ownership of its product area, collaborating closely with senior engineers while contributing your own voice to technical discussions and implementation choices. This specific project enhances trust and transparency by detecting and preventing fraudulent activities, such as fake reviews, and ensuring policy compliance through AI, data analysis, and scalable fraud detection systems. • Collaborative Development: Work alongside Product, Design, Data Science, and senior backend engineers in a cross-functional squad that owns its product and codebase end-to-end
• System Implementation & Design: Partner with senior engineers to design backend services, and independently implement high-volume, scalable data processing solutions for fraud detection using TypeScript
• Growing Autonomy: Take on complex backend tasks alongside senior developers, transitioning over time into delivering end-to-end features and services with minimal day-to-day supervision
• Scale & Reliability: Build and maintain secure, distributed cloud services within an event-driven microservices architecture, focusing on code quality, testing, stability, and performance
• Lifecycle Ownership: Participate across the development lifecycle—from technical grooming and architecture discussions to deployment, monitoring, and production maintenance
• Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in constructive code reviews, incorporating architectural feedback from senior colleagues to elevate code health and engineering best practices

Требования:

• Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a solid focus on backend engineering
• Core Tech: Strong, hands-on expertise with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Cloud Infrastructure: Solid, hands-on experience with AWS services—including API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB—utilizing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Architecture: Practical experience building and maintaining event-driven and microservice architectures, preferably using the Serverless Framework
• Databases: Solid proficiency with NoSQL (DynamoDB) and relational databases (PostgreSQL)
• DevOps & Tooling: Working experience with modern CI/CD pipelines (such as GitHub Actions), Docker, and container orchestration platforms (ECS or Kubernetes)
• AI-Assisted Development: Hands-on experience developing with AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate workflows and code delivery, with a strong preference for Claude
• Code Independence & Ownership: A proven track record of taking user stories and technical specs from inception to production release, proactively resolving blockers, and working with increasing self-direction
• Collaboration & Coachability: An eagerness to learn from and pair with senior team members, absorb architectural guidelines, and ask the right questions when tackling ambiguous technical challenges
