Job summary

Avanta Works in Los Angeles is seeking a skilled Back-End Developer to join our tech team. You will design, build and maintain server-side applications, collaborating with front-end developers to deliver high-performance web solutions.

The role requires a degree in CS or related field and hands-on experience with Java, Python or Ruby, and databases such as MySQL or MongoDB. Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript is a plus; serverless architecture is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• Proven work experience as Back-End Developer or similar role.
• Strong experience with programming languages such as Java, Python or Ruby.
• Experience working with databases like MySQL or MongoDB.
• Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with serverless architecture is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
• Identify and fix bugs in existing codebase.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Implement data storage solutions including databases, key-value stores, blob stores etc.
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
