Senior Backend Engineer

The role

You will help build the backend and AI infrastructure systems that power Rad Security’s platform.

That includes:

• Large scale security event processing
• AI driven investigation systems
• Cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure
• APIs and distributed services
• AI agent security workflows
• Enterprise and on prem deployments
• Data pipelines powering detections, automation, and risk analysis

You will work across infrastructure, backend engineering, and applied AI systems. One day you may be optimizing a Kubernetes event pipeline and the next you may be helping improve how autonomous AI workflows analyze security telemetry or generate remediation actions.

This role is highly hands on. We care deeply about reliability and engineering quality, but we also value pragmatism, speed, ownership, and customer empathy.

When something breaks in production, we jump in and solve it together.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable backend systems using AI, Go and Python
• Build APIs, event pipelines, and distributed services that process large volumes of security telemetry
• Develop infrastructure and orchestration systems for AI driven security workflows and autonomous agents
• Build and improve AI engineering systems including LLM orchestration, prompt pipelines, agent frameworks, and security focused AI automation
• Operate and improve Kubernetes based infrastructure across cloud and enterprise environments
• Support enterprise and air gapped deployments using Terraform, Helm, and infrastructure as code workflows
• Work directly with customers to troubleshoot deployments and improve reliability
• Collaborate closely with product, detection engineering, AI engineering, and frontend teams
• Help shape architectural decisions as the company scales rapidly
• Improve observability, resiliency, and operational performance across the platform

What we are looking for

• Strong backend engineering experience with Go, Python, or similar languages
• Experience building distributed systems, async processing pipelines, or event driven architectures
• Hands on Kubernetes experience including debugging and operating production environments
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code tooling
• Strong AI engineering and coding skills including experience working with LLMs, AI agents, orchestration frameworks, or applied AI systems
• Comfort operating in fast moving startup environments with high ownership
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineers, customers, and leadership teams
• Strong troubleshooting instincts and willingness to jump into production issues when needed

Nice to have

• Experience working with security telemetry, detections, runtime events, SIEM data, or cloud security systems
• Familiarity with autonomous AI agent frameworks and agent security concepts
• Experience deploying into regulated, enterprise, government, or air gapped environments
• Familiarity with observability tooling such as Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry
• Experience building AI powered developer or security tooling
• Background in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering
