Job description

About the team

OpenAI’s mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity. Achieving this goal requires more than cutting-edge research—it demands deep, ongoing engagement with the policymakers, communities, institutions, and partners shaping the future of AI.

The communications team supports this mission by clearly and authentically explaining our technology, products, and approach, helping business leaders, customers, partners, developers, policymakers, and the public understand how AI can be developed and adopted responsibly.

About the role

We’re looking for a senior B2B Communications Manager for Latam, based in São Paulo, to shape how businesses across the region understand the company’s technology, products, and role in helping organizations adopt AI responsibly.

Reporting to the Head of Communications for LATAM, this role will own regional B2B communications strategy and execution, with a focus on helping business decision-makers, industry leaders, customers, partners, and the media understand the value and impact of the company’s technology. You’ll shape how the company communicates about enterprise adoption, customer outcomes, innovation, productivity, and responsible deployment across Latam markets.

This is a builder role for someone equally comfortable setting regional strategy, developing compelling business narratives, and helping local teams translate global priorities into communications that resonate in their markets. You’ll partner closely with global Communications, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Partnerships, Product, Research, Safety, Legal, and Policy teams to deliver impact on the ground.

What you’ll do

Set and execute the Latam B2B communications strategy, aligned with regional business priorities, global narratives, and the company’s mission

  • Develop clear, compelling narratives that show how organizations across Latam can use the company’s technology to transform work, improve productivity, build new products and services, and drive growth
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Partnerships, Product, Research, Safety, Legal, Policy, and global Communications teams to turn complex technology, product developments, and company announcements into locally relevant communications
  • Lead earned media strategy for B2B audiences across the region, including national, business, technology, and relevant industry and trade media
  • Identify and develop customer and partner stories that demonstrate credible, measurable business outcomes and responsible AI adoption across Latam
  • Prepare executives, customers, partners, and subject‑matter experts for high‑impact communications, including media interviews, industry events, launches, customer engagements, and moments of scrutiny
  • Build repeatable communications programs around enterprise adoption, customer milestones, partnerships, and go‑to‑market priorities across Latam, not just one‑off announcements
What you bring

10+ years’ experience in B2B, corporate, product, or technology communications

  • Deep experience communicating enterprise technology, platforms, or technical products and translating complex capabilities into clear, accurate, and compelling business narratives
  • Strong earned media experience, with relationships across national, business, technology, and relevant industry and trade media
  • A strong understanding of the business, technology, and media landscape across Latam, including how enterprise adoption and customer needs vary by market
  • Proven experience partnering closely with marketing, sales, customer success, partnerships, product, research, safety, legal, policy, and communications teams
  • Experience operating at executive level and advising leaders through high‑profile launches, customer moments, sensitive issues, and ambiguous environments
  • Excellent judgement and the ability to communicate confidently across business, product, corporate, policy, and societal topics
  • Experience working in international or regional roles within global companies and complex operating environments
You’ll thrive in this role if

You like building from scratch and shaping how a company earns relevance and trust with business audiences

  • You have a thoughtful, audience‑first mindset and go beyond traditional media relations to build understanding with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders
  • You are curious about how technology, business, policy, and society intersect across different markets
  • You care as much about customer credibility, trust, clarity and accuracy as you do about reach
  • You are comfortable moving between regional strategy and the practical work needed to help local go‑to‑market teams succeed
  • You’re comfortable navigating complexity, scrutiny, and a fast‑changing technology and business landscape
  • You want to work in a small, senior team where autonomy and judgement really matter
