Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a safety‑conscious B Lineman for Transmission (GTC) maintenance. You will construct, repair and maintain energized and de‑energized transmission systems, climb structures, and operate heavy line equipment.

Travel to multiple job sites, including out‑of‑state assignments, is required and on‑call work may be needed. Applicants must have 3 years of transmission line experience and a valid CDL, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied weather.

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and repair transmission systems.
  • Install and repair overhead transmission lines and related hardware.
  • Operate and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners and pullers.
  • Climb structures and work at heights, including on energized lines.
  • Travel to out-of-state locations as required by outages or emergencies.
  • Follow all safety protocols including PPE and insulated tools.

Job description

B Lineman - Transmission (GTC) (Maintenance)

The Class B Lineman is a safety focused professional with the ability to construct and repair electrical transmission systems. You will work on energized and de ‑ energized powerlines and may be required to travel to different job sites, including out ‑ of ‑ state locations, as operational and customer needs dictate. You will report to the Foreman.

Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de ‑ energized transmission systems while putting safety first.

Install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.

Comprehensive knowledge of switching and tagging procedures, EPZ -grounding and understanding induced voltage on de-energized lines using the proper tools and test equipment.

Climb different structures (wood, steel, concrete) using approved climbing methods and equipment.

Work at heights and in proximity to energized equipment.

Proficient in all aspects of heavy lifting and rigging.

Operate and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners and pullers and other pieces of transmission line equipment.

Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.

Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.

Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and possess a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential on energized lines.

Three (3) years of recent transmission line experience.

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Willing to travel long distances on short notice.

Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out ‑ of ‑ state assignments.

While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. You will perform job responsibilities in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions.
