The Cardiometabolic/Obesity/Renal/Endocrinology (CORE) Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a US-based field position within the Medical Department, reporting to the MSL Lead - CORE Franchise. MSLs are the primary communicators of Azurity Pharmaceuticals within a specific geography with healthcare professionals and population-based decision makers. MSLs are the field scientific experts in Obesity Medicine, including the evolving treatment landscape, obesity pharmacotherapy, cardiometabolic comorbidities, and relevant endocrinology-based care pathways. The MSL will support strategic Medical Affairs initiatives, evidence-generation activities, and field readiness efforts associated with the continued growth of the CORE portfolio.
Azurity is seeking a Medical Science Liaison as part of the Medical Affairs team based in near Los Angelos, San Francisco, or Seattle.
Territory: West CA, OR, WA, AZ, NV, ID, MT, WY, CO, UT, AK, HI
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Advanced terminal degree (PharmD, MD, DO, DNP) or other advanced medical degree (NP, PA, RN etc.) is required.
Additional certifications or focused training in Obesity Medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, or cardiometabolic disease are preferred; examples include ABOM/DABOM, BC-ADM, CDCES, or BCACP.
Experience:
2-3 years relevant work exp (MSL, clinical, fellowship, or research experience) and/or related pharmaceutical industry work experience is required.
Thorough knowledge or experience in obesity medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, cardiometabolic disease, metabolic disorders, or related academic, community, or specialty care settings
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for excellence
Demonstrated ability to present effective and influential oral presentations
Self-motivated with strategic thinking and strong geographical management skills
Deep scientific expertise - stays abreast of data, treatment trends, and new information in the profession and ability to articulate therapeutic knowledge and translate expert feedback into appropriate insights
Adept at developing relationships and building networks
Ability to work effectively in a time and independently
Excellent organization skills and decision-making abilities. Skillfully plans, prioritizes, and executes multiple responsibilities and projects.
Knowledge of relevant healthcare systems, the evolving medical landscape, regulatory and payer environment, public health and industry trends.
Travel frequently up to 70%, including occasional weekends. Ability to fly or drive to various meetings
Candidate must reside within the territory or within a 30 min commute from the nearest territory border focusing on both community and academic sites
