Job summary

Applied Information Sciences, Inc. seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support Azure-based and on-prem/cloud hybrid environments for federal clients. You will help design, implement, and automate infrastructure while ensuring security and reliability.

The role emphasizes autonomy, mentorship, and stakeholder alignment across technical plans. The position requires a Bachelor's in a related field, 4+ years of enterprise cloud experience, and active clearance (IAT-2).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cloud and/or infrastructure environments.
IAT-2 and one or more cloud certifications required.
Active Secret clearance (or higher) and experience in regulated environments with secure engineering/documentation practices.

Responsibilities

Maintain smooth operation of cloud-based systems and coordinate with network administrators.
Set up admin and service accounts; document cloud infrastructure and tenant inventory; tune performance.
Respond to large-scale events involving VMs and storage.
Fix critical software and system failures; propose and implement automation solutions.
Develop tools, reports, and processes to monitor health of cloud environments.

As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Azure Web Services Cloud Administrator - Mid. Project Summary AIS is supporting federal customer with a program focused on architecture and infrastructure.

Core Knowledge & Skills

Designs complex network and hybrid-cloud solutions; implements security controls, DR/BCP, and automated IaC with deployment pipelines; performs advanced performance tuning.

Work & Complexity

Solves complex issues, designs and delivers new infrastructure solutions, performs capacity planning, and leads advanced automation initiatives.

Quality & Independence

Drives root-cause analysis, enforces best practices and QA on changes, optimizes for reliability and user experience; operates with high autonomy.

Teamwork & Communication

Leads cross-functional efforts, mentors juniors, facilitates knowledge transfer, and aligns stakeholders with technical plans.

Key Responsibilities

Maintains smooth operation of different cloud-based systems, including coordination with network administrators.

Develop/improve tools, reports, and processes to monitor the health of cloud environment.

Required For This Opportunity

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years of relevant experience supporting enterprise cloud and/or infrastructure environments.
Certifications: IAT-2, 1 or more cloud certifications.
Active Secret clearance (or higher).
Experience working in regulated environments and following secure engineering / documentation practices.

Nice to Have Skills

Experience supporting DoD/IC programs and mission systems.

At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member. The targeted base salary range for this role is $102,000-$154,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location.
