Job summary

VPL is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to operate and improve Azure cloud environments and a container-based application platform. You will contribute to cloud operations, automation, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.

You’ll join a small team, work across Development, QA, Architecture and SRE, participate in on-call after onboarding, and grow your skills in observability, security, and reliability within a modern Azure–Kubernetes stack.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in DevOps, cloud ops, or related technical role.
• Foundational Azure knowledge: compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring or security.
• Experience with Git and automated build or deployment pipelines.
• Basic understanding of containers, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
• Experience scripting or automating tasks with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar.
• Linux and Windows troubleshooting skills with networking and security basics.
• Strong learning agility, attention to detail, and disciplined production changes.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, Terraform, databases, messaging or SaaS prod environments is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain VPL’s production and non-production Azure environments.
• Monitor platform health, availability, performance, capacity, security, and cloud consumption.
• Support application builds, releases, and deployments using Azure DevOps and GitOps workflows.
• Perform routine administration and troubleshooting across Azure services, containers, Kubernetes, networking, storage, identity, and platform dependencies.
• Make controlled infrastructure and configuration changes using infrastructure-as-code and version-controlled processes.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, patching, upgrades, certificate rotation, vulnerability remediation, and resource lifecycle activities.
• Partner with Development, QA, Architecture, and SRE to resolve environment issues and improve operational reliability.
• Maintain runbooks and operational documentation and participate in the on-call rotation after completing onboarding.
