Job summary

Octave is seeking a DevOps/Cloud Engineer to join our hybrid team. You will influence architecture across multiple products, provide deep technical guidance, and collaborate with development and operations to enable reliable, frequent releases for cloud deployments.

You will build automation tools, write scripts, and document DevOps practices while addressing on-call duties and occasional evening maintenance.

Qualifications

Microsoft Azure infrastructure (3 yrs).
Infrastructure-as-Code (any).
CI/CD (built and maintained, not just used).
Claude Code or Codex, active user of agentic coding tools.
PowerShell.
Git.
Highly experienced in full SDLC (not a narrow DevOps role).
Willing to write DevOps-related documentation as part of role.
On-call responsibilities and occasional evening maintenance.

Responsibilities

Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses.
Contributes to framework/architecture shaping for multiple products.
Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
Collaborates with development and operations to enable reliable releases and testing.
Acts as a liaison between product development and cloud operations.
Tests designs and documents cloud deployment impact.
Develops and maintains tools to support automation for releases.
Writes installation scripts and programs for product installation.
Troubleshoots issues during testing to prevent deployment problems.
