Job summary

Cognizant is hiring a Data QA Tester — Azure Data Platform in a hybrid role in Salt Lake City, UT. You will validate data pipelines, ensure data quality across cloud-based platforms, and collaborate with data engineers and analysts to deliver reliable insights.

Required are 5+ years in data testing with strong skills in Azure Databricks (Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog), Azure Data Factory, Python, PySpark, and SQL. Experience with Power BI validation and data governance is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in data testing, quality assurance, data validation, or quality engineering.
• Strong expertise in Azure Databricks, including Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, and Unity Catalog.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory, including pipeline validation, monitoring, and testing activities.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL for data validation, test automation, and reconciliation.
• Experience testing enterprise data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, and cloud‑based data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Execute data validation and testing activities across enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, and cloud‑based analytics solutions.
• Validate data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and execute manual and automated test cases using SQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Perform data reconciliation, data quality checks, and reporting validation for business and operational data.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to troubleshoot issues and support project delivery.
