Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking a Data Operations Engineer to manage enterprise data platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. You will ensure availability, performance, security, and operational excellence for SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Databricks.

You will maintain critical database infrastructure, support data engineering workloads, automate processes, monitor health, and collaborate with data engineers, developers, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable data services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering required.
• 4+ years administering Azure SQL and MS SQL Server.
• Experience with Azure Databricks and T-SQL optimization.
• Familiar with HA/DR, backups, and security controls.
• Scripting with PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python; CI/CD experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain on-premises SQL Server environments.
• Manage Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Monitor health, performance, storage, and capacity.
• Configure backups, DR, and high-availability solutions.
• Automate tasks via PowerShell, T-SQL, or Python; support CI/CD.
• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and infra teams.
