Experis is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join a Cybersecurity Data Operations team in a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC or Jersey City, NJ. Pay Rate: $60.00 – $75.00/hr W2 (Strictly W2 Only – No C2C or 1099)
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join an enterprise Cybersecurity Data Operations team. In this role, you will partner directly with Insider Risk, Security Engineering, and Data Governance teams to build, optimize, and centralize critical security data within an enterprise Cybersecurity Data Lakehouse (CyberDW).
You will be responsible for designing and developing scalable data ingestion pipelines for Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Insider Risk data sources. This position serves as both a primary technical developer and a key technical liaison between Data Owners and Security Engineering teams, ensuring adherence to Agile SDLC processes and delivery schedules.
Design, build, and optimize scalable data ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines within Microsoft Azure to support a centralized Cybersecurity Data Lakehouse.
Ingest and normalize complex security data streams, including DSPM, DLP, and Insider Risk datasets, into the enterprise CyberDW environment.
Implement robust data lake architectures using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure Databricks.
Serve as a technical liaison between Data Owners, Insider Risk analysts, and Security Engineering teams to translate security requirements into technical data solutions.
Maintain data security, governance, encryption, and regulatory compliance protocols across all pipeline architectures.
Actively participate in Agile/Scrum sprint routines, managing deliverables, sprint tracking, and adherence to internal IT SDLC standards.
Education & Experience: 5+ years of dedicated Data Engineering experience with a focus on Microsoft Azure data platforms.
Core Azure Stack: Proven, hands‑on expertise with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
Languages & Scripting: Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python (or PySpark) for complex data transformations and pipeline development.
Security & Governance: Experience handling, ingesting, or centralizing security operations data (e.g., DLP, DSPM, SIEM, or Insider Risk logs) is highly preferred.
Agile & SDLC: Demonstrated experience working in fast-paced Agile engineering environments with strict SDLC adherence.
Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) or related security/data certifications.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid posture out of Charlotte, NC or Jersey City, NJ.
