The role requires hands-on expertise in Azure, Terraform/Bicep/ARM, and DevOps, with a focus on landing zones, governance, cost optimization, and enterprise-scale modernization.

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Architect to lead the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role combines Platform Architecture and Solution Architecture responsibilities, requiring a hands-on architect who can define cloud standards, design scalable solutions, and guide engineering teams through successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain Azure landing zones, cloud governance, security, networking, and operational standards.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient Azure platforms using Azure-native services.
• Establish Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, monitoring, and cloud operating models.
• Ensure compliance, cost optimization, and cloud best practices across the Azure estate.
• Design end-to-end cloud solutions for business and application modernization initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into scalable architecture designs and technical roadmaps.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance on application, integration, data, and security patterns.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to ensure successful delivery.

Leadership & Governance

• Act as the architecture authority for Azure-based initiatives.
• Drive cloud adoption, technical standards, and architectural governance.
• Mentor engineering teams and support strategic technology decisions.
• Engage with stakeholders and executive leadership to align technology solutions with business objectives.

Requirements

Required Experience

• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years designing and implementing Azure solutions.
• Strong expertise in Azure platform services, networking, identity, security, governance, and monitoring.
• Experience with Azure Landing Zones, Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure Networking, Azure Storage, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), and serverless technologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, application modernization, integration, and data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Experience designing high-availability, disaster recovery, and enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification.
• Experience with enterprise cloud migrations and modernisation programmes.
• Knowledge of multi-cloud environments and security frameworks.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
