Job summary

Independent Software, Inc. is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud solutions.

You will guide secure, scalable environments and oversee complex migrations while establishing governance and operational standards. Qualifications

• Candidates must possess at least one current Microsoft Azure certification.
• Active TS SCI clearance with appropriate Polygraph required.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy enterprise-grade Azure environments (hybrid and multi-region).
• Lead Microsoft 365 integrations including Entra ID, SSO, CA, DLP, Defender.
• Plan and execute large-scale migrations from on-premises to Azure/Microsoft 365 (AD, email, file shares).
• Implement IaC using ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or PowerShell DSC.
• Establish cloud governance, cost optimization, tagging, and policy enforcement.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex Azure/M365 issues.
• Mentor junior/intermediate cloud engineers and share knowledge.
• Stay current with Azure/M365 technologies and best practices.

Job description

What You Will Do:

As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer at Independent Software, you will lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise-level Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud solutions. You will play a key role in developing secure, scalable cloud environments, overseeing complex migrations, and establishing cloud governance and operational standards. You will work with technical teams and organizational stakeholders to:

• Develop and implement cloud architecture strategies that support business and operational needs.
• Lead large-scale cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Provide advanced technical guidance, resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues, and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Drive improvements in cloud security, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and deploy enterprise-grade Azure environments, including hybrid and multi-region cloud solutions.
• Lead Microsoft 365 integrations involving Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Single Sign-On (SSO), Conditional Access, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Microsoft Defender.
• Plan and execute large-scale migrations from on-premises infrastructure to Azure and Microsoft 365, including Active Directory, email, and file shares.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, or PowerShell DSC.
• Establish and manage cloud governance policies, cost optimization strategies, resource tagging, and policy enforcement.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex Azure and Microsoft 365 issues involving compute, networking, identity, and productivity services.
• Mentor junior and intermediate cloud engineers and contribute to technical training and knowledge sharing.
• Stay current with Azure and Microsoft 365 technologies, recommend improvements, and implement cloud best practices.

Certifications:

• Candidates must possess at least one current Microsoft Azure certification.

Clearance Requirement:

• Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
