Job summary

Karpel Solutions is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to design, support, and troubleshoot Azure cloud solutions for our SaaS applications. The role involves working in a self-motivated IT team and collaborating with the internal IT group to resolve issues and improve the company's cloud stack.

The ideal candidate has 4–7 years IT experience, Azure expertise, Windows Server knowledge, and strong communication skills to support diverse stakeholders in a hybrid work setting in St. Louis, MO.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in IT or related field.
• 4–7 years IT experience with 2+ years as System/Cloud Engineer.
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure.
• Expert knowledge of Windows Server OS, VM, IIS, and SQL Server.
• Strong server maintenance, backups, OS updates.
• Experience with Active Directory and GPO.
• Knowledge of cloud-native resources (Blob storage, App Services, SQL, load balancers, Key Vault, etc.).
• Some PowerShell proficiency.
• 3+ years supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows OS.
• Excellent communication and customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Researches, evaluates, and recommends modern cloud infrastructure design improvements to ensure architecture is stable, performant, secure, and cost-effective
• Automates routine tasks using Infrastructure-as-Code deployments
• Servers as Tier 3 escalation for Windows Server and other cloud-related service issues
• Collaborates with support, application, and operation teams to align contributions with larger company initiatives
• Monitors resource stability & proactively corrects performance issues when they arise
• Enforces infrastructure best practices as outlined in the Azure Well-Architected Framework
• Supports and enforces Microsoft 365 security policies and best practices, such as MFA and Conditional Access
• Performs system administration tasks, including patching and configuration management
• Configures, monitors, and validates regular system backups to ensure data integrity and recovery capabilities
• Collaborates with other IT professionals and vendors to ensure seamless integration of systems and services
• Participates in ongoing training and attainment of manufacturer certifications to further develop technical skills
• Develops and maintains relationships with customers that further develop our company’s positive reputation through exceptional customer services
• Utilizes effective soft skills to work effectively both individually and among the overall IT team
• Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager
