Job summary

Raye IT Consulting, LLC in the Washington, DC area seeks an innovative Cloud Engineer to support a federal client. The role focuses on Azure cloud services, RBAC, and cost-optimized infrastructure, with hybrid work arrangements.

You will design and manage storage, VM provisioning, data factories, DevOps pipelines, and governance across Azure resources, collaborating with end users and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 8+ years of Cloud engineering experience.
• 5 years of Enterprise Data Management (EDW) experience with databases and data backup/recovery.
• Proficient with Terraform to build cloud infrastructure (mid-senior level).
• 3+ years of Azure services provisioning/administration (DF/ Synapse/ Analysis Services/ AD).
• Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps on iterative projects.
• Ability to oversee a total system perspective across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage storage accounts across Resource Groups.
• Manage Azure Entra ID (Active Directory) operations.
• Implement RBAC in the Azure tenant.
• Create Azure VMs, manage backups, and install applications.
• Configure Azure Log Analytics Workspace and dashboards.
• Document processes, dependencies, and future plans for apps.
• Interact with end users to provide Azure cloud support.
• Maintain and migrate applications to Azure cloud.
• Create Azure resources based on client processes and requirements.
• Administer databases in Azure cloud and Azure SQL Server.
• Optimize Azure resources for cost efficiency.
• Provision/manage Azure infrastructure with PowerShell.
• Implement Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.
• Migrate workflows from on‑prem and Azure across tenants.
• Create APIs for Azure resources (log analytics, ARM templates).
• Work with ETL operations using Azure Data Factory across platforms.
