Job summary

Knowesis is seeking an exceptional Azure Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain cloud environments in Azure Government, GCC, and GCC High, providing secure hybrid-cloud support for government workloads in the Washington, D.C. area.

You will manage identity and access, network configurations, and cross-cloud integration with AWS and GCP, ensuring compliance with security requirements and program objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience engineering and maintaining Azure Government, GCC, and GCC High environments.
• Minimum of 2 years working across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud models.
• Minimum of 2 years managing cloud security, identity (Entra ID), RBAC, and virtual networks.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy, configure, and maintain cloud environments within Azure Government (Azure.gov), GCC, and/or GCC High environments.
• Design and support cloud solutions spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
• Implement and maintain cloud security, identity, access management, and networking capabilities across hybrid-cloud environments.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID and RBAC to support secure identity and access management.
• Configure and maintain virtual networks, network security controls, and secure hybrid-cloud connections.
• Support secure connectivity and integration across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain availability and security.
• Apply cloud security and configuration best practices consistent with applicable government, organizational, and contract requirements.
• Collaborate with technical and program stakeholders to assess requirements, resolve complex cloud engineering issues, and support mission objectives.
• Document cloud configurations, security controls, procedures, and technical solutions as required.

Knowesis is currently seeking an exceptional Azure Cloud Engineer to provide cloud engineering, security, identity, networking, and hybrid-cloud support across government cloud environments. The Azure Cloud Engineer will engineer and maintain Azure Government, Government Community Cloud (GCC), and/or GCC High environments across Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) models, while supporting secure integration across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

To be eligible for this position, candidates must have a Secret clearance and possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.

The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience engineering and maintaining cloud environments within Azure Government (Azure.gov), Government Community Cloud (GCC), and/or GCC High environments.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working across Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud service models.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience managing cloud security, identity, and networking using Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), virtual networks, and secure hybrid-cloud connections.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting secure hybrid-cloud connections across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Demonstrated experience with Azure cloud engineering, administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience implementing cloud security and access controls in government or otherwise security-sensitive environments.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex cloud infrastructure, security identity, and networking issues.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance or suitability determination required by the contract.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government cloud environments or Department of Defense (DoD) missions.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, scripting, cloud monitoring, and configuration management.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure, security, networking, or cloud certifications.
