Job summary

Leidos seeks a cloud engineering professional to support the USAF Cloud One Architecture across AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle clouds in a hybrid remote role. Ideal candidates are near Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA) or Huntsville, AL.

You will apply systems engineering to the full lifecycle from requirements through deployment, building CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and container platforms while embracing DevSecOps practices. A Secret clearance and DoD experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or Master's with 2-6 years.
  • Interim Secret clearance to start; ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (IAT Level II).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Java, Go).
  • Strong Linux/Unix, networking basics, and Git knowledge.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems requirements analysis for cloud-based and hybrid environments.
  • Design, implement, and support secure CI/CD pipelines for automated, scalable software delivery.
  • Support the integration of DevSecOps pipelines across Azure cloud platforms.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Deploy, configure, integrate, and support applications within cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Assist with configuration, operation, and sustainment of container platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift.
  • Analyze and support system availability, scalability, performance, and resiliency across distributed cloud systems.
  • Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives, system upgrades, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Implement and support automated security capabilities including vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST, container security, and compliance automation.
  • Monitor system health using logging/monitoring tools and support incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Support verification, validation, system testing, and QA for cloud-based solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, security, operations, and customer stakeholders to influence solution design.
  • Apply and enforce DevSecOps standards, SE processes, and best practices.

Description

Leidos was awarded the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract. Leidos is seeking a across AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle clouds. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to modernize a leading, global-scale multi-cloud environment in support of a critical mission, supporting USAF system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness.

Location:

This position will be hybrid remote. Candidates may be required to work onsite as needed. Preferred candidates will be located near Hanscom AFB (Boston, MA) or work in Huntsville, AL.

Primary Responsibilities Could Include:

This individual will be responsible for technical planning, design, development, integration, verification, and sustainment of secure, cloud-native systems. The individual applies systems engineering principles to hardware, software, and networked environments, supporting the full system lifecycle from requirements analysis through deployment and operational support.

  • Perform systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, and requirements allocation for cloud-based and hybrid environments.
  • Design, implement, and support secure CI/CD pipelines to enable automated, scalable software delivery.
  • Support the integration of DevSecOps pipelines across Azure cloud platforms.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Deploy, configure, integrate, and support applications within cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Assist with the configuration, operation, and sustainment of container platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift.

  • Apply and enforce established DevSecOps standards, systems engineering processes, and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Familiarity with container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash, Java, Go).
  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking fundamentals, and version control (Git).
  • *Strong collaboration, communication, and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD or USAF cloud environments (e.g., Cloud One, Platform One).
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architectures and security concepts.
  • Cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK.
  • Exposure to security scanning tools, compliance frameworks, and DevSecOps automation.
  • Industry certifications such as CKAD, KCNA, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS SysAdmin, AWS Advanced Networking, AWS Security, Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect.
  • Example certifications include: Industry Professional certification Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified AWS SysAdmin, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Security, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
