Job summary

Easy Dynamics seeks an AWS Technical Lead to steer large, regulated AWS engagements, architecting scalable environments and driving DevSecOps practices. You will lead across compute, network, storage, data, security, and observability while enforcing IaC standards and automated security gates.

You will mentor engineers, shape capture and proposal work, and align AWS workloads with FedRAMP, NIST, and zero-trust requirements in both GovCloud and commercial regions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud engineering or architecture, with 6+ years on AWS, in DevSecOps or platform engineering roles.
• Expert-level Terraform: module design, state management at scale, testing, and policy-as-code enforcement.
• Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for federal systems with integrated security scanning.
• Deep AWS security expertise: IAM design, OUs, KMS, network segmentation, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and logging architecture.

About the role

Our AWS business has reached the point where it needs a dedicated Technical Lead. We have a large backlog of work and an active pipeline of large AWS pursuits where we are well positioned.

Our AWS work is engineered, not administered. Every environment we run is defined in Terraform, deployed through automated pipelines, hardened to NIST SP 800-53 and DISA STIG baselines, and monitored continuously. We are now applying agentic tooling that drafts control implementations, triages findings, and reduces the toil in operations and ATO work.

We are hiring an AWS Technical Lead to run this work including how our AWS programs are architected, staffed, managed, and delivered. Additionally, you will be the technical lead supporting our capture and partnership functions.

What you'll do

Delivery and Project Management

• Support delivery across our AWS programs: staffing, schedules, risk, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Define the practice operating model: reference architectures, delivery playbooks, and reusable accelerators built on the Terraform module library.
• Report practice health, staffing needs, and risks.

Technical Leadership: DevSecOps, Automation and Compliance

• Act as the firm's senior technical authority on AWS across compute, networking, storage, data, security, identity, observability, and serverless and container platforms.
• Set and enforce the Infrastructure as Code standard for the practice: Terraform first, with reusable module libraries, policy-as-code guardrails (OPA, Sentinel, or AWS Config rules), and automated drift detection.
• Own the CI/CD and GitOps model for AWS programs: pipeline architecture, artifact signing, SAST/DAST/SCA gates, and automated STIG and CIS hardening of AMIs and containers.
• Drive compliance as code: map NIST SP 800-53 controls to automated evidence, integrate Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, and CloudTrail into continuous monitoring, and move programs toward continuous ATO.
• Design and review architectures for AWS GovCloud and commercial regions under FISMA, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust requirements, aligned to the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Eliminate operational toil through automation: self-healing infrastructure, automated patching, runbook automation, and cost optimization built into pipelines.
• Stay hands-on. You should be able to open a terminal, read a Terraform plan, and diagnose what a team is stuck on.
• Lead adoption of AI across delivery: agentic tooling for operations triage, IaC generation and review, control-implementation drafting, and documentation.
• Architect and deliver AI workloads on AWS in regulated environments using Bedrock, SageMaker, and related services, with the guardrails, data controls, and authorization boundaries federal customers require.
• Establish practice standards for responsible and secure use of AI coding assistants and agents, consistent with customer AI-use restrictions.

Team Development

• Mentor and help retain AWS architects, cloud engineers, and DevSecOps engineers.
• Build a certification and skills-development program that raises the technical floor across the practice and supports partner-tier requirements.
• Advise on career paths and technical review practices that make Easy Dynamics a destination for strong AWS engineers.

AWS Partnership (supporting the CSO)

• Serve as the technical owner of our AWS Partner Network relationship, working day to day with AWS partner managers, solutions architects, and public sector account teams.
• Drive the technical requirements for competencies, service delivery designations, and Well-Architected Partner status, including case studies, validations, and certification counts.
• Manage partner program mechanics, including MAP, POC funding, credits, and co-sell registrations.

Proposal Solutioning (supporting the CSO)

• Serve as solution architect on AWS pursuits: architecture, staffing model, transition approach, and basis of estimate.
• Write and review technical approach volumes, respond to RFIs, and present in orals.
• Partner with capture and BD leads to shape requirements, engage customers early, and position AWS-native approaches.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud engineering or architecture, with 6+ years focused on AWS, in DevSecOps or platform engineering roles.
• Expert-level Terraform: module design, state management at scale, testing, and policy-as-code enforcement. CloudFormation or CDK fluency preferred.
• Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for federal systems (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline) with integrated security scanning.
• Deep AWS security expertise: IAM design, Organizations and SCPs, KMS, network segmentation, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and logging architecture.
• Demonstrated compliance-as-code work: automating NIST SP 800-53 evidence, STIG or CIS hardening, and continuous monitoring in support of FISMA or FedRAMP authorizations.
• Practical experience delivering AI or ML capabilities on AWS, or applying AI tooling to engineering and operations work, in a regulated environment.
• 3+ years leading and mentoring cloud engineering teams.
• Deep, current, hands-on AWS expertise across core services, including AWS GovCloud (US).
• Active AWS Professional-level certification required: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional (both preferred).
• Active AI certification required: AWS Certified AI Practitioner or AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer - Associate, and/or an Anthropic Claude certification.
• AWS Certified Security - Specialty and HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate strongly preferred.
• Experience contributing to federal proposals as a technical solution architect or technical volume author.
• Experience working directly with AWS partner and account teams.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• Delivery experience at federal civilian agencies where AWS is the platform of record.
• Track record advancing an AWS Partner Network tier or earning competencies and service delivery designations.
• Multi-cloud fluency, particularly Azure Government.
• Experience with agentic AI frameworks and MCP-based tooling for engineering and operations.
• Kubernetes (EKS) and container security experience.

The salary range for this position is $160,000-190,000
