Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks an AWS Technical Lead to join our cloud infrastructure team. You will drive architecture, collaborate with a federal client, and advance multi-cloud deployments to support mission-critical operations.

You will lead a team of DevOps engineers, shape cloud strategies, and ensure secure, scalable solutions while guiding AI-enabled improvements across the USPTO AWS environment and related workloads.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT/digital transformation experience.
• 5+ years AWS/Azure/GCP cloud architectures and implementations.
• Expertise leading multi-tenant cloud systems (landing zones, multi-account).
• Proactively identify and drive improvements in cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies and tools; relevant cloud certifications.
• Proven experience bridging on-premise systems with cloud environments.
• Travel: 40%, Telecommuting options limited, Remote work allowed, VAHOME locations listed.

Responsibilities

• Own the current state of AWS systems and identify gaps and improvements.
• Improve operational excellence across the USPTO AWS environment with the operations lead.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and objectives.
• Advance USPTO systems, adopt AI practices, lead design of improvements, oversee client deliverables.
• Lead a DevOps team, delivering secure cloud strategies.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement with a prioritized backlog.
• Partner with senior leadership and agency teams to build cloud adoption strategies.
