Job summary

Kapitus seeks an AWS Software Engineer II to drive architecture and deliverables in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will design and implement microservices using AWS serverless tools, collaborate with developers and key stakeholders, and guide junior engineers to strengthen our platform.

You will help optimize workflows and reliability while maintaining a strong focus on customer trust and performance.

Qualifications

BS degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
4–8 years of hands-on development with NodeJS and Python.
Experience designing REST and event-based services on AWS (Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB, API Gateway, IAM, etc.).
Experience building SaaS/Cloud software with internal integrations.
Experience with AWS services: Lambdas, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EC2, IAM, STS.
Experience with RDS (relational databases) and non-relational databases.
Strong communication, agile mindset, API development, and collaboration.
Experience with infrastructure as code and CloudFormation.
Creative and analytical problem solver translating business problems into architecture.

Responsibilities

Participate in technical design sessions to identify/document solutions.
Develop microservices with AWS serverless architecture.
Act as a trusted advisor with stakeholders in a consultative role.
Help build a best-in-class team culture with open dialogue and feedback.
Improve system efficiency, performance, and availability while maintaining trust.
Provide technical direction to junior engineers.
Support legacy code while building future state systems.
