  • Support legal proceedings and engagements on privacy-related matters
A day in the life

Your focus will be on advising AWS teams on privacy compliance and strategy across our global operations. You'll partner with product teams to develop features and services, consult with legal colleagues on legal strategy, and guide business leaders on privacy strategy. Your work spans from tactical compliance questions to longer-term strategic initiatives that shape how we build privacy into our services from the ground up.

Our team works across the entire organization—from product development to customer-facing operations—to ensure privacy is woven into everything we do. We serve customers around the world who depend on AWS to handle their data securely and in compliance with applicable laws. Over the coming years, we're focused on staying ahead of the rapidly evolving global privacy landscape while enabling our business to grow and serve our customers. You'll be instrumental in helping us achieve that balance, working alongside colleagues who are committed to both legal excellence and business impact.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience

  • Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
  • 3 + years experience focused on privacy and data protection
  • Experience representing organizations on data protection or privacy matters across multiple jurisdictions
  • Knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations, including U.S. state laws and GDPR
  • Demonstrated experience developing privacy governance frameworks, policies, and compliance processes
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience advising on privacy legal issues related to cloud computing services
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in mission-critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous situations
  • Understanding of internet services and applications and related technologies
  • Ability to set and drive strategy and provide guidance to business teams
