Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Manager- AWS Network Architect to design secure, scalable cloud networking across enterprise AWS environments. The role emphasizes hands-on VPC Lattice, CDK with Python/TypeScript, and multi-account connectivity across regions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Title: Manager- AWS Network Architect

Job Location: Remote- USA

We are seeking an experienced AWS Network Architect to design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available cloud network architectures across enterprise AWS environments.

This role requires deep expertise in AWS cloud networking, with hands-on AWS VPC Lattice implementation and AWS CDK development using Python and/or TypeScript as mandatory requirements.

The successful candidate will design multi-account and multi-region connectivity architectures, establish service-to-service networking patterns, automate network infrastructure through AWS CDK, and provide technical leadership for complex AWS network environments.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $114,000 to $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

In this role, you will

• Architect and implement enterprise AWS network solutions across multi-account, multi-VPC, and multi-region environments, including VPC architecture, Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, routing, DNS, Direct Connect, VPN, and PrivateLink.

• Design and implement AWS VPC Lattice for secure application and service-to-service connectivity, including service networks, services, routing, authentication/authorization, and access controls.

• Develop and maintain AWS network infrastructure using AWS CDK with Python and/or TypeScript, creating reusable CDK constructs and standardized infrastructure patterns.

• Design hybrid connectivity between AWS and on-premises environments using AWS Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, BGP, and resilient routing architectures.

• Architect secure cloud networking using AWS Network Firewall, Security Groups, NACLs, IAM-based controls, segmentation, and least-privilege principles.

• Design enterprise DNS and private connectivity solutions using Amazon Route 53, Private Hosted Zones, hybrid DNS, AWS PrivateLink, and VPC endpoints.

• Troubleshoot complex AWS network connectivity, routing, DNS, latency, and security issues using tools such as VPC Flow Logs and Reachability Analyzer.

• Develop AWS network architecture standards, reusable designs, topology diagrams, and technical governance while providing architectural guidance to engineering and security teams.

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

• 8+ years of overall networking experience, with strong hands-on AWS cloud networking and architecture experience.

• Mandatory: Hands-on AWS VPC Lattice architecture and implementation experience.

• Mandatory: Strong hands-on AWS CDK development experience using Python and/or TypeScript.

• Demonstrated experience developing reusable AWS CDK constructs/stacks for network infrastructure, rather than only consuming existing CDK templates.

• Strong expertise in AWS VPC architecture, multi-account networking, Transit Gateway, Cloud WAN, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, PrivateLink, and AWS Network Firewall.

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, routing, CIDR planning, hybrid connectivity, network segmentation, and cloud network security.

• Experience designing AWS networks across multiple accounts, VPCs, and regions.

• Strong troubleshooting capabilities across AWS routing, DNS, hybrid connectivity, network security, and application/service connectivity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS Organizations and shared-services network architectures.

• Knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation in addition to AWS CDK.

• Experience supporting regulated or large-scale enterprise environments.

• AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect – Professional certification.

• Experience with network observability, traffic analysis, and cloud operations platforms.
