Qualifications

• Significant applied software engineering experience delivering production systems (design, build, deploy, support).
• Strong hands-on AWS experience building and operating services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, RDS).
• Strong hands-on Java experience (service development, debugging, production support).
• Strong hands-on Python experience (automation, tooling, diagnostics, integrations).
• Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Spinnaker) and automated validation/quality gates.
• Strong troubleshooting across application and infrastructure boundaries with logs/metrics.
• Strong ownership mindset to drive ambiguous problems to measurable outcomes.
• Strong communication and collaboration to unblock delivery with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable services using Java and Python, deployed and operated on AWS.
• Build and maintain automation and tooling to improve environment readiness and consistency (health checks, dependency validation, configuration verification, smoke checks).
• Implement and operate CI/CD improvements to reduce failures and time-to-unblock.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across AWS and distributed systems and drive resolution to closure.
• Modernize existing Java/Python/AWS apps to improve reliability and velocity; contribute to architecture artifacts.
• Produce and maintain runbooks, operational documentation, and self-service guidance.
• Collaborate with partner teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality outcomes despite changing priorities.
• Uphold strong engineering standards and mentor other engineers as needed.
