Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to deliver cloud migration, modernisation, and adoption for public sector clients. You will collaborate across development, infrastructure, and security teams to build secure, scalable AWS solutions with automated pipelines.

You will implement IaC with Terraform, use Ansible for configuration, and manage pipelines with Jenkins while leveraging Docker and Git workflows. Open to hybrid local delivery centers and globally distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with AWS cloud services and DevOps practices, including automation, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and Git workflows.
• Proficiency with IaC using Terraform and config management with Ansible.
• Scripting using Bash/Shell and ANT.
• Experience with Git, Docker, and Liquibase for deployment automation.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence in Agile delivery environments.
• Knowledge of core AWS services and networking/security concepts.
• Understanding of DevOps principles and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• AWS Infrastructure: Build, deploy, configure, and maintain AWS environments with infrastructure as code.
• Cloud Migration: Support migration and modernization of apps/workloads onto AWS.
• CI/CD & Automation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing/deployments.
• Infrastructure & Security: Implement scalable, secure solutions aligned with standards.
• Monitoring & Operations: Monitor environments, troubleshoot issues, ensure reliability.
• Incident Management: Lead incident resolution and root-cause analysis.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate and improve processes.
