Job summary

BSL Consulting seeks a senior data engineer to design and manage large-scale data pipelines on AWS. You will build data lakes, data warehouses, and ingestion architectures, while guiding a team of engineers to deliver scalable analytics solutions.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in data engineering, strong Python/SQL skills, and hands-on experience with cloud-native data services, DevOps, and IaC tools. NJ location; full-time role with collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS data services (Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, EMR/Spark, Kinesis, Athena, RDS, API Gateway).
• Proficient in Python and SQL; Shell scripting and Scala a plus.
• Strong experience designing, implementing, and managing data lakes, data warehouses, and data ingestion pipelines on AWS.
• Proven experience with ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and big data frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and coach engineers in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of data ingestion pipelines on AWS.
• Mentor and coach engineers in best practices for data engineering.
• Design and optimize data lakes and data warehouses to support analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and IaC to enable reliable deployments.
