Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Tempe, Arizona seeks a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) to provide testing and validation oversight of electrical and mechanical infrastructure in AWS data centers.

You will review design documents, lead Factory Witness Testing, and manage third‑party commissioning vendors to ensure on‑site performance. This role requires 5+ years of engineering experience, an electrical engineering degree, and knowledge of BMS/EPMS, HVAC, and power systems.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems based on design intent and approved equipment submittals.
• Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems design.
• Knowledge of continuously operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment systems, and building management systems.
• 5+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• The Commissioning Engineer (CxE) provides testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
• CxEs review design documents, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and manage third-party commissioning vendors in the performance of onsite pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing.
• They take ownership of their projects’ successes by driving deep resolution of technical issues and coordinating with stakeholders to meet schedule.
