Job summary

Amazon in Seattle is seeking a controls professional to join the AWS controls team focused on CapEx and leasing processes, internal controls over financial reporting, and compliance readiness.

You will design and implement controls with engineering and business teams, support process owners and auditors, and participate in annual walkthroughs.

The role requires 3+ years in controls/audit/SOX, a Bachelor’s in accounting, and knowledge of COSO and GAAP; on‑site Seattle presence is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of controls/audit/compliance/SOX roles experience.
• Experience designing and implementing controls or experience performing audits over financial reporting environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute controls strategies across AWS processes.
• Drive control design and implementation with engineering and business teams.
• Perform deep dives to define risk and controls for financial reporting.
• Advise on compliance programs and maintain internal control effectiveness.
• Support process owners and auditors through walkthroughs.
• Assist in evaluating control deficiencies and remediation.
