Key responsibilities include evaluating AWS governance, identifying security gaps, and ensuring compliance with federal security guidance. Candidates must possess important credentials such as CISSP, CCSP, and various AWS certifications.

Qualifications

Job description

The AWS Cloud Security Architect will play an integral role with the execution of a key Federal customer of UltraViolet Cyber. The Cloud Architect will lead the analysis of enterprise and AWS cloud architecture to identify security gaps and recommend improvements aligned with DoD and industry standards. The role involves AWS Cloud Assessment services.

Responsibilities

• Assess security architecture across enterprise systems and AWS cloud environments
• Evaluate how AWS environments are governed, provisioned, operated, and consumed
• Analyze architecture within AWS IL4 (or similar regulated environments)
• Identify security gaps across:
  • System design
  • Cloud configurations
  • Policy enforcement
  • Operational processes
• Evaluate alignment with:
  • AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • DoD and federal security guidance
  • Zero Trust and defense-in-depth principles
• Provide target-state architecture recommendations
• Support identification of policy, operational, and technical deficiencies

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity architecture (cloud + enterprise)
• Strong experience with AWS environments and DoD security requirements
• Core Certifications:
  • CISSP (foundational requirement for most architect roles)
  • CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) – critical for AWS/cloud environments
• Cloud / AWS:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty
• Architecture / Advanced (Preferred):
  • SABSA (Security Architecture)
  • TOGAF (Enterprise Architecture)
• DoD / Federal:
  • CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
• Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with SCI Polygraph (or eligible)
