Job summary

KellyMitchell Group is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer I for a 26-week contract in Oakland, CA. The role is hybrid, requiring one day onsite per week, and focuses on supporting AWS infrastructure, deployment automation, platform reliability, security, and production operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in DevOps/SRE, hands-on AWS experience, Terraform/GitHub CI/CD, and scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Docker/Kubernetes and security practices are also important.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps, cloud engineering, or site reliability engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EKS/ECS/Lambda/IAM/S3/RDS).
• Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; strong security and production support.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize AWS infrastructure (EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, IAM, RDS).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Terraform.
• Automate provisioning and operational processes via Infrastructure as Code.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot production issues, and improve observability.
• Remediate vulnerabilities, support upgrades, and maintain security compliance.
• Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployments and productivity.
• Support disaster recovery, cost optimization, and cloud governance.
