Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and come prepared to discuss how they have experienced each of these areas in previous roles:
The AWS Tier III Engineer is a senior infrastructure engineering and escalation role responsible for the support, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of complex client environments, with a primary focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
This position serves as a Tier III escalation point for complex technical issues that require advanced troubleshooting and engineering expertise beyond standard Tier I and Tier II support. The engineer will work directly with clients, internal engineering teams, vendors, and other technical resources to resolve critical issues, implement infrastructure improvements, and provide ongoing technical guidance.
While AWS is the primary area of specialization, this role requires broad infrastructure knowledge across networking, Windows/Linux systems, identity, security, backup, disaster recovery, virtualization, monitoring, and hybrid environments.
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced infrastructure engineer who is comfortable operating independently in complex client environments and is capable of moving beyond traditional break/fix support.
The engineer should be able to take an issue from:
Escalation → Investigation → Root Cause → Remediation → Documentation → Preventative Improvement
The successful candidate will combine deep AWS technical knowledge with broad infrastructure expertise, strong communication skills, sound engineering judgment, and the ability to mentor other engineers.
This position is an AWS-focused Tier III infrastructure engineering role, rather than an AWS-only administration position. The engineer must be capable of troubleshooting across the complete technology stack when AWS workloads interact with networking, security, Windows/Linux systems, identity, backup, and on-premises infrastructure.
