Job summary

Merci Technologies is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure for an enterprise client. This fully remote role supports Full-Time or Contract candidates and collaborates with development and security teams to ensure reliable, secure cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on AWS infrastructure design and operations.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred) and scripting (Python or Bash).
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS, or EKS).
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (VPC, subnets, routing, security groups).
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar).
• AWS certification preferred (Solutions Architect Associate or higher).
• Experience in compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, CMMC, HIPAA) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment of applications and infrastructure changes.
• Configure and optimize core AWS services, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost, and availability, implementing improvements as needed.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement least-privilege access, encryption standards, and compliance controls.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across networking, compute, and storage layers.
• Support migration of on-premises workloads to AWS where applicable.
• Document architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures for supported environments.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production support as needed.

In this role you will work across provisioning, automation, and operations for AWS-based workloads, partnering closely with development and security teams to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and secure cloud environments. This is a fully remote position open to Full-Time or Contract candidates.
