Job summary

CWI Services, LLC, an Indiana-based veteran-owned company, is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or CAWI to support welding inspection and QA/QC on structural steel, process piping, fabrication shops, and field projects across the Midwest and nationwide. You will perform visual weld inspections, review qualification documentation, and maintain accurate logs.

Strong communication and meticulous record-keeping are essential, as travel and project-based scheduling are common.

Qualifications

• CWI certification (AWS) or CAWI required.
• Ability to read drawings, WPS, and welding codes.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Professional communication and safety-focused mindset.
• Willingness to travel for assignments and meet site requirements.

Responsibilities

CWI Services, LLC is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector or CAWI to support welding inspection and QA/QC assignments. Our work spans structural steel, process piping, fabrication shops, and industrial field projects throughout the Midwest and nationwide.

What you’ll do

• Perform visual weld inspections and verify compliance with applicable codes, drawings, specifications, and welding procedures.
• Review welding and welder-qualification documentation.
• Maintain clear inspection reports, weld logs, and material-traceability records.
• Communicate findings professionally with clients, welders, and project teams.
• Support testing and NDE coordination within your qualifications and assigned scope.

What we’re looking for

• Current AWS CWI certification.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, WPS documents, and applicable welding codes.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and accurate documentation.
• Professional communication, accountability, and a commitment to safe work.
• Availability for project-based schedules and travel as assignments require.
• Ability to meet applicable employment verification, screening, and client-site requirements; a valid driver’s license where driving is required.
