Job Overview

The Assistant Vice President, Technology Vendor Relationship Manager serves as the relationship lead and governance partner for an assigned portfolio of technology vendors supporting enterprise platforms in a highly regulated financial services environment. This individual contributor role is responsible for driving vendor governance, performance management, commercial support, renewal readiness, stakeholder engagement, and risk oversight to ensure vendor relationships deliver expected value across technology, operations, and business functions. The role partners closely with Procurement, Legal, Risk, Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders to support operational excellence, contractual compliance, and strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities
Strategic Vendor Leadership
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned technology vendors supporting enterprise platforms, infrastructure, cybersecurity solutions, SaaS applications, and business capabilities.
  • Coordinate vendor governance activities, including operational reviews, business reviews, performance assessments, and follow-up on vendor commitments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve vendor performance, optimize service utilization, address service gaps, and support cost‑effective vendor strategies.
  • Support enterprise initiatives such as AI adoption, cloud migration, platform modernization, consolidation efforts, and business integrations by aligning vendor activities with organizational priorities.
Commercial & Contract Management
  • Support contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, amendments, pricing reviews, benchmark analysis, and negotiation preparation.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Legal, Finance, Risk, and technology stakeholders to support commercial strategies and track vendor obligations.
  • Assist with RFI and RFP activities by helping define requirements, evaluate vendor responses, and ensure business, technical, operational, and regulatory considerations are represented.
  • Maintain awareness of licensing structures, consumption trends, renewal milestones, service obligations, and financial commitments.
Technology & Industry Expertise
  • Develop knowledge of assigned vendor capabilities, product roadmaps, service models, and market positioning across cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, SaaS, and enterprise technology domains.
  • Provide insights regarding vendor performance, commercial implications, service risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments impacting financial services technology environments.
  • Translate technical, commercial, and operational information into actionable summaries, recommendations, and stakeholder communications.
Operational & Risk Management
  • Monitor vendor performance, service level agreements, operational stability, support responsiveness, delivery quality, and remediation activities.
  • Identify, document, escalate, and support mitigation of operational, compliance, regulatory, cybersecurity, concentration, and third‑party risks.
  • Ensure vendor activities align with Third‑Party Risk Management frameworks, governance standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Support issue resolution, incident follow‑up, escalation management, service improvement initiatives, and vendor offboarding activities as needed.

Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in technology vendor management, vendor relationship management, strategic sourcing, procurement, contract management, third‑party risk, technology operations, or related vendor‑facing roles.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, wealth management, or another regulated environment; equivalent experience managing regulated technology services may be considered.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships across one or more technology domains, including SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure, enterprise applications, data platforms, or managed services.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including practical understanding of pricing models, renewal planning, licensing structures, consumption‑based models, and contract obligations.
  • Experience supporting RFPs, renewal cycles, vendor performance reviews, service level reviews, and complex technology agreements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and vendor management or workflow tools.
  • Experience managing vendors that support regulated trading, advisory, broker‑dealer, or wealth management environments.
  • Experience with cloud, SaaS, cybersecurity, data, infrastructure, enterprise applications, or technology managed services vendors.
Pay Range

$103,927.00 - $173,246.00

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
