Job summary

The Tidal Financial Group, a leading ETF investment technology platform, seeks an AVP of Trading and Portfolio Management to lead ETF portfolios and oversee day-to-day activities. You will manage risk-adjusted strategies and partner with Trading to execute trades and rebalances.

Ideal candidates have extensive portfolio management experience, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in ETFs and market compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant ETFs, trading, or portfolio management experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; VBA, Bloomberg, or Python experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key member of the Portfolio Management team for day-to-day passive and client-facing oversight.
• Monitor portfolios, support trade execution, compliance reporting, and related activities.
• Perform daily portfolio reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with internal teams.
• Partner with Trading to prepare/execute trades, rebalances, and ETF baskets.
• Prepare quarterly reconciliations and reporting for oversight, boards, and filings.
• Learn and apply firm portfolio management and compliance policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and controls as the business grows.

About the role

Tidal isseekinga highly skilled AVP of Trading and Portfolio Management responsible for the implementation and management of various Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) portfolios. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, strong analytical skills, and a proventrack recordin managing portfolios within relevant risk-reward frameworks.
The ETF Portfolio Management team provides portfolio management and execution services for ETF issuers. The firm manages both active and index-based portfolios and covers most major global asset classes. This position will closely be involved with day-to-day portfolio management functions of exchange traded products.

What you'll do

• Serve as a key member of the Portfolio Management team, supporting the day-to-day management and oversight of passive investment portfolios and serving as a point of contact for clients as needed.
• Monitor portfolios and support trade execution, compliance reporting, and other activities related to the ongoing management of investment strategies.
• Perform daily portfolio reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Partner closely with the Trading team to prepare and execute trades, portfolio rebalances, ETF baskets, and other portfolio activity.
• Prepare quarterly portfolio reconciliations and reporting to support portfolio oversight, compliance requirements, board meetings, and regulatory filings.
• Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s portfolio management and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring day-to-day activities are performed in accordance with established guidelines.
• Identify opportunities to improve portfolio management processes, controls, and workflows as the business continues to grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably within ETFs, trading, portfolio management, or a related investment function.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel required; experience with VBA, Bloomberg, Python, or similar tools is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying issues and driving them through resolution.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, and other internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proximity to Chicago and New York preferred
• Basic Bloomberg command knowledge
• Experience with or exposure to investment compliance guideline monitoring, maintenance, and updates.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Understanding of operational risk and the importance of maintaining effective controls within portfolio management and trading processes.
• Proactive and improvement-minded, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance workflows, processes, and overall efficiency.

The pay range for this role is:

90,000 - 130,000 USD per year (United States)
