GIC Global Investment Services (GIS)

The Global Investment Services (GIS) Department provides strategic investment services and financial management for the Public and Private Markets within the GIC group. Leveraging data and emerging technologies, the department oversees the development and implementation of business infrastructural plans and operating models to scale GIC’s investments globally. We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing, asset and portfolio monitoring, financial operations across GIC’s assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.

Portfolio Investment Finance

We provide comprehensive deal advisory, finance support, and treasury solutions across asset classes, ensuring every investment is rigorously evaluated and executed with financial discipline. The portfolio and asset controllership capabilities encompass financial due diligence, oversight of asset-level financial operations, cash flow monitoring, and financial risk management. Complemented by financial analytics, PIF drives strong financial governance, effective financial management of investment entities, and delivers insights that protect and enhance investment performance. The treasury function within PIF manages and optimizes cash, mitigates financial risks, and provides tailored treasury solutions to enhance liquidity and optimize yields.

You will join a dynamic team dedicated to providing investment services across private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and cross-strategy investment portfolios.

We are seeking a suitable candidate to join the Investment Finance team as an Assistant Vice President. This role will serve as a finance controller, with primary focus on the finance, accounting, and reporting aspects of deal cycles, along with the ongoing monitoring of investment structuring and valuation across the Americas private market investment teams. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various internal and external stakeholders throughout the investment lifecycle.

What will you do as an Assistant Vice President, Investment Finance?

• Collaborate with deal teams and relevant stakeholders to assess valuation and operational considerations; coordinate financial due diligence throughout the acquisition and divestment process.
• Provide financial and operational input on holding structures and funding mechanisms; assess accounting and valuation impacts and execute implementation.
• Manage various work streams with internal stakeholders and external advisors during investment / divestment process.
• Prepares and reviews market valuation for private investments within corporate policies.
• Partner with operation team to fulfill all operating requirements, i.e. liaising with banks on funding guidelines.
• Reviews financial controls for asset operations while liaising with external auditors.
• Oversee the organization and maintenance of the investment holding platform, including corporate secretarial and financial reporting.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accountancy or equivalent, ideally with CPA qualification.
• 6–8 years of relevant working experience, ideally gained at a Big 4 firm supporting direct private markets transactions or at an asset manager. Prior exposure to real estate transactions would be an advantage.
• A driven self-starter with strong initiative; hands-on and adept at managing multiple tasks. Confident in engaging with various stakeholders and capable of working independently to achieve results.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have practical working experience with accounting software systems.

Compensation

Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results.

Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $130,000 and $160,000. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
