Job summary

Aviva U.S. aims to build a new Commercial Insurance organization, blending underwriting heritage with disciplined execution and innovation.

The AVP, Operations, Delegated Underwriting Authority (U.S.) leads onboarding and management of DUA relationships with MGAs and program administrators, driving scalable, compliant processes. You will partner across functions to ensure strong controls, due diligence, and regulatory compliance, while shaping a culture of quality and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in P&C insurance operations.
• Significant experience in delegated underwriting authority or program business.
• Specialty/E&S or commercial lines exposure with surplus lines knowledge preferred.
• Proven experience leading operational teams and multi-stakeholder processes.
• Strong knowledge of sanctions screening (OFAC) and state compliance.
• Experience with audit, quality review, and due diligence in delegated authority.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end agency/agent appointment processes, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant handling.
• Partner with Underwriting and Compliance to meet state licensing and appointment standards.
• Oversee sanctions screening and clearance for all DUA partners and agents.
• Oversee due diligence for Program Administrators and renewals with thorough review.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance and IT to ensure action on due diligence findings before binding.
• Own Operations Procedures & Guidelines across the delegated authority lifecycle.
• Lead audits and quality reviews, driving continuous improvement across the function.
• Support cross-functional teams to design scalable operating procedures and controls.
