Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range for this position is $186,900.00 - $308,300.00. The actual salary will be determined by factors including scope, complexity, location, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, and other conditions of employment.

Employees are eligible for performance‑based cash incentive awards as part of Travelers’ comprehensive compensation and benefits program.

Opportunity

Assistant Vice President, Data & Analytics Architecture – Enterprise Data Products & Enablement reports to the Chief Architect and will shape the long‑term technical strategy for Travelers’ Enterprise Data Products and Data Enablement Value Streams.

Key responsibilities include leading a team of architects, owning technical strategy for Master Data Management and Geospatial capabilities, and setting architectural direction for foundational data capabilities such as Data Platform Standards, Governance, catalog strategy, lineage, and quality tooling.

What Will You Do?
  • Lead one or more architecture teams within major segments or domains for a single business unit.
  • Define target‑state technology architecture, roadmaps, and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to capitalize on industry and technology trends, assess impact, and define large technology proof of concepts.
  • Champion continuous transformation to optimize business and technology outcomes, minimizing technical debt.
  • Provide thought leadership on modern architecture principles and technology modernization, influencing senior leadership and building strong relationships with engineering teams.
  • Optimize talent strategy, attract, develop, and retain high‑performing talent, setting goals and holding teams accountable.
  • Prepare and deliver communications that convey architectural direction and its alignment to business strategy.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Technical Expertise & Education: Bachelor’s in technology‑related field or equivalent, with 10+ years of architecture experience and recent hands‑on experience with modern technologies.
  • Leadership & Influence: Extensive executive leadership experience, proven ability to shape enterprise technology strategy, manage and mentor architects and engineers, and align multi‑team goals with organizational mission.
  • Strategic & Business Acumen: Agile operational model experience, transformational change support, ability to develop target states and roadmaps aligned with business goals, insurance technology experience preferred, deep understanding of value creation and business capability models.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions.
Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM field.
  • 8 additional years of architecture/software engineering experience.
  • 3 years of technical leadership experience.
