Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking an AVP, Data Analytics – Regulatory Reporting in San Diego to lead end-to-end regulatory submissions to OCC and FRB. You will guide a small team, oversee data pipelines, and ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports.

The role blends regulatory knowledge with data science, SQL, Python, and automation to improve processes. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in data analytics or regulatory reporting within banking, plus 2+ years of people management, and experience with

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive experience in data analytics, regulatory reporting, or financial reporting in banking.
• 2+ years of people management experience leading analytical teams.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL; Python experience preferred; BI tools such as Tableau/Power BI a plus.
• Experience preparing and managing regulatory reporting for agencies (OCC/FRB) is required.
• Familiarity with Databricks for building data pipelines and data governance workflows.

Responsibilities

• Oversee regulatory reporting submissions to OCC, FRB, and similar agencies; ensure accuracy and deadlines.
• Direct and develop a 2–3 person data analytics team; manage workload and performance.
• Manage data sourcing, quality controls, and lineage for regulatory inputs; collaborate with IT, Finance, Risk, and Compliance.
• Lead AI/automation initiatives to streamline regulatory processes and reduce manual work.
• Engage with stakeholders including senior executives, Compliance, Legal, and regulators; prepare briefings.
