Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an AVP, Corporate Development to lead mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments and partnerships. You will oversee due diligence, valuation, negotiation and post-close integration, coordinating with external advisors and internal partners to realize long-term value.

The role requires 12+ years in related fields, strong financial modeling and executive communication, with travel as needed and a focus on disciplined governance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, strategy.
• MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• Typically twelve or more years in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, private equity or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification, screening and prioritization of mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, JVs and other inorganic growth opportunities.
• Direct comprehensive opportunity assessments including market analysis, valuation, scenario analysis and risk assessment.
• Lead transaction execution from initial contact through due diligence, negotiation and closing.
• Oversee integration planning and execution for acquired or partnered businesses.
• Build and maintain relationships with investment banks, PE firms and strategic partners.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology and HR to align decisions with priorities.
