Our client, a well-known regional bank, is seeking an AVP/VP level Commercial Real Estate Credit Underwriter to support portfolio growth and new originations.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite commercial real estate credit requests, including new loans, renewals, and modifications
• Analyze borrower financial statements, guarantor strength, rent rolls, operating statements, and cash flow
• Assess property fundamentals, market conditions, collateral value, and risk structure
• Prepare clear, well-supported credit memoranda with risk identification and mitigants
• Review third-party reports (appraisals, environmental, engineering, market studies)
• Ensure compliance with bank credit policy, regulatory standards, and internal guidelines
• Partner with relationship managers, portfolio managers, and credit leadership throughout the deal lifecycle
• Monitor portfolio performance and support ongoing credit administration as needed

Requirements

• 3–8+ years of commercial real estate credit underwriting experience at a bank or similar institution
• Experience underwriting multiple CRE asset classes (e.g., office, industrial, retail, multifamily, mixed-use)
• Strong financial analysis and cash flow modeling skills
• Solid understanding of loan structures, covenants, and risk rating methodologies
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or related field (required)
