Job summary

STS Technical Services is seeking an Avionics Technician in Des Moines, IA. The role focuses on troubleshooting avionics and electrical systems on aircraft, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance in a collaborative team environment.

Candidates should have strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with supervisors. A&P or FCC licenses are a plus, and experience with flight management, EFIS, and airframe systems is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing aircraft avionics and airframe systems.
• Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 91, 135, and 145.
• Experience with Flight Management Systems, Navigation/Communication, EFIS, and Aircraft Electrical Systems.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, or procedural manuals.
• A&P or FCC license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft.
• Communicate with department manager or crew chief on problems or repairs.
• Ensure all work performed is inspected by an authorized repair station inspector.
• Prepare documentation for record-keeping in compliance with policies, FAA manuals, and OEM manuals.
• Learn, understand, and follow the company work order and parts requisition process.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and efficient work area.
• Repair and calibrate shop equipment as assigned.
