Job summary

Medway Air Ambulance Inc in Georgia is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and avionics systems on legacy and modern corporate aircraft. The role requires strong analytical skills, ability to read drawings and wiring diagrams, and use testing equipment to ensure compliance with manuals and engineering specs.

Candidates must have an Airframe & Powerplant license, be comfortable working at heights, and possess own tools.

Qualifications

Job description

The Avionics Technician performs a variety of tasks to include: electrical and avionics troubleshooting, repairs and installation of electrical and avionics components, and light mechanical tasks as required. The role requires significant avionics and electrical experience in legacy and modern corporate aircraft. Reviews all work for conformance to applicable maintenance manuals and engineering specifications. Other tasks and duties may be assigned as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must possess strong analytical skills required to perform complex electrical/electromechanical troubleshooting.
  • Must have experience with basic analog/digital multi-meters and other avionics test equipment.
  • Requires the ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and other engineering specifications.
  • Required to assemble close tolerance parts, use special tooling such as torque wrenches, calipers, and pneumatic drills.
  • Maintains, repairs, and installs various types of avionic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, telecommunication, and navigational aids).
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment operations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Responsible for performing routine maintenance and inspections; trouble-shoot, repair and perform modifications of airframe components and associated equipment; engine removal and installation; operating/maintaining company equipment, component repair and overhaul. Performs Learjet 35, 35A, 45 airframe and engine OEM maintenance.
  • Must have experience with basic hand tools and demonstrate knowledge of mechanical skills.
  • Requires the ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, T.O. specs and engineering specifications.
  • Ability to assemble close tolerance parts and use hand tools such as pneumatic drills and rivet gun.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Make entries into maintenance logs & work orders IAW 14 CFR Part 43 and Operator/Air Carrier manuals.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • A valid Airframe & Powerplant License is required.
  • Extensive aviation and avionics experience a plus
  • High School Education or GED equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and portable stands and navigate these without assistance.
  • Must be able to work at heights 20 feet above the ground.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold.
  • Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odors, dust.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, work in narrow aisles/passageways, and work in close spaces that restrict movement including aircraft fuel tanks for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 50 pounds.
