Bell Textron Inc. is seeking an Avionics Technical Instructor for the Bell Training Academy in Fort Worth, TX. The role involves teaching electrical, AFCS, and avionics courses to customers worldwide and travel to US and international sites as needed.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with avionics, electrical, and autopilot systems on helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft, plus strong presentation and communication skills. Experience with Bell Helicopter or service centers is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must possess an FCC General Radio Telephone license and/or Airframe certificate.
• At least 2 years’ experience maintaining/troubleshooting avionics, electrical and autopilot systems on helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft.
• Self-starter with strong presentation skills and customer focus.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent communicator; able to build relationships with customers and brief leaders.

Avionics Technical Instructor – Bell Training Academy

The Bell Training Academy is looking for a self-starter to teach Bell electrical, Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS), and Avionics courses at our Fort Worth facility. This position will require travel both to US and international customers to present our courses.

We are looking for an experienced technician that has a high degree of knowledge maintaining aircraft electrical and avionics and autopilot systems.

Preferred candidates will have Bell Helicopter experience or experience working for an Operator or at a Bell Service Center. They will have experience maintaining but not limited to the following systems: electrical power production and distribution, starting, lighting, heating and air conditioning, instruments, crew alerting, Autopilot, and avionics.

You’ll have experience maintaining but not limited to the following systems: GPS, VOR/ILS, Altimeters, Transponders, Marker Beacon, Pitot Static Systems, VHF communication radios, Intercom systems, hydraulics, fuel, powerplant and transmission indicating systems.

This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely with customers and fellow instructors.

What you’ll be doing as an Avionics Technical Instructor:

• Prepare classroom for each class and deliver the presentation of the course materials to the customers.

• Maintain the Bell Training Academy shop areas in a clean and orderly appearance.

• Develop and deliver specialized courses for customers.

• Develop a rapport with the customer base to include US based and international customers.

• Work with the Training Support Development team to update courseware or build courseware as needed.

• Travel required to present aircraft courses both in the US and Internationally (15%).

Qualifications

Skills You Bring to This Role:

• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Must possess an FCC General Radio Telephone license and/or Airframe certificate.

• At least 2 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting avionics, electrical and autopilot systems on helicopters or fixed wing aircraft.

• Self-starter, outgoing people person, with great presentation skills.

• Skilled at using MS Office software.

• Ability to prioritize work, strong customer comes first attitude, and a positive team player.

• Excellent communicator that must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, and brief leaders/peers.

• Proficiency in Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically capable of working on and around aircraft.

• Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work stands; kneel, squat, sit, crawl, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods.

• Must be able to stand for prolonged durations.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., including overhead, and team lift up to 50 lbs.

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.

• Good vision with ability to focus on small details and identify defects.

• Must remain vigilant and adhere to all workplace safety protocols.
