Aspire MRO is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to perform removal, testing, and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical components. This role reports to the Avionics Lead or Maintenance Supervisor and emphasizes safety and adherence to aviation standards.

Ideal candidates have 18+ months of experience troubleshooting aircraft systems, can read schematics, and follow maintenance manuals. Opportunity includes a hangar environment with limited travel and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance function checks and troubleshoot aircraft systems (AIMS, PMAT, ATC, Pitot Static).
• Removals and installations of avionics LRUs and wiring displacements safely.
• Follow wiring diagrams, IPCs, ATA codes, service bulletins and maintenance manuals.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and comply with safety PPE requirements.
• Mentor less experienced technicians and interface with management and other departments.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Avionics Technician is responsible for removal, replacement, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical components on aircraft. This is an experienced-level position that has no direct reports and reports to the Supervisor of Avionics in the Avionics Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform maintenance functions checks and troubleshooting of aircraft systems. Examples AIMS, PMAT, ATC, Pitot Static...etc.
• Perform work to a manner to prevent injury and damage to the aircraft while power on or off.
• Perform removals and installations of avionics LRUs, wiring displacements, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task.
• Follow Customer Aircraft maintenance documentation programs.
• Follow wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, Illustrated Parts Catalog, ATA Codes, Service Bulletins and Maintenance Manuals.
• Read electrical schematics and use them to troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Be familiar with ESD, EWIS processes and requirements
• Follow all safety procedures and specifications with appropriate PPE.
• Execute all required paperwork as work is being completed in connection with assigned normal duties.
• Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner.
• Complete assignments with little or no rework.
• Act as a mentor and help train less experienced avionics technicians.
• Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers.
• Perform other work as instructed by the Avionics Lead or Maintenance Supervisor, if qualified.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Must provide own tools as indicated on company tool list.
• Language (read, write, speak, and understand English)
• Eighteen (18) months or more experience troubleshooting aircraft systems – Military or Commercial transport aircraft.
• Minimum visual acuity of 20/40 corrected.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant or FAA Airframe certificate.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in indoor and, occasionally, outdoor settings. The indoor settings include office and warehouse/airplane hangar environments which require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines and safety gear. The outdoor settings include airplane runways and parking lots. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Occasionally subject to varying inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.

TRAVEL:

Travel may occasionally be required for this position (10% or less).
