Job summary

Airbus Helicopters, Inc. seeks a visionary Avionics Systems Integration Engineer/Architect to lead the global architecture for Airbus helicopters, including the H125 to H160 families. You’ll specify, design, and integrate critical avionics and electrical systems across the lifecycle, working with FAA DERs and external partners.

The role requires strong system engineering and simulation capabilities, travel up to 10%, and collaboration across global teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7 years of aircraft systems design, development, integration and certification.
  • 10% Domestic and International travel availability.
  • Avionic architecture and electrical systems knowledge.
  • System Engineering ARP 4754, DO-160.
  • Simulation of integrations and verifications.

Responsibilities

  • Define system/integration architectures per operation requirements.
  • Validate design solutions via simulation and modeling.
  • Define and approve verification methods and programs (EMI/EMC, environment, vibrations, thermal).
  • Design, develop, and review installation instructions and CAA/airworthiness documentation.
  • Provide liaison support with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a visionary Avionics Systems Integration Engineer / Architect to serve as the technical mastermind behind the brains of our world‑class aircraft. In this role, you won't just be managing systems—you’ll be actively specifying, designing, and integrating the critical global architecture for our legendary fleet, including the H125, H130, H135, H145, and H160.

Your Challenges
  • Define System/Integration architectures in accordance with engineering operation requirements as elaborated during offer phases to meet customer, airworthiness, general engineering standards and company requirements.
  • Validate design solutions by implementing simulation, modeling, predictive tools.
  • Define and approve verification methods (analysis, tests…), elaborate verification program including general engineering aspects such as EMI: EMC, general environment, vibrations, thermal analysis (list not limited) and deliver the verification results to the Airworthiness team.
  • Design, develop, and review technical documents and engineering drawings needed to integrate avionics and electrical equipment, and their associated interfaces.
  • Create and/or review Installation Instructions and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
  • Provide liaison support to various internal and external customers as required for support of aircraft integration and conformity efforts (suppliers, planning, industry, quality, etc.)
  • Coordinate with FAA DERs and ODA Unit Members in support of certification requirements.
Your Boarding Pass
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent technical degree or relevant experience.
  • 7 years of experience (or verifiable demonstrated equivalent) of aircraft systems design, development, integration and certification.
  • 10% Domestic and International travel availability.

  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms daily
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily
  • Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10 lbs daily
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10 lbs daily
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture occasionally
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer daily
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving occasionally
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices daily
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice rarely
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Steel‑toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
