Schedule: Monday-Friday | 9/80A | 6:00 AM-3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $70.00-$120.00 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Avionics Software Engineer to join a premier aviation industry leader in Fort Worth, TX. You will be responsible for the creation, modification, testing, and documentation of embedded software requirements specifically for military aircraft modernization initiatives. Your technical contributions will ensure that complex avionics systems align with mission-critical performance standards and customer specifications.

Your Impact
  • Utilize engineering best practices to research, design, and implement embedded software, which helps maintain high-quality avionics system performance.
  • Create, update, and verify embedded software environment requirements for military-grade upgrade projects.
  • Convert high-level system objectives into detailed software requirements and corresponding validation tests.
  • Coordinate and manage software requirement discussions with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Oversee software integration tasks to ensure all program milestones and customer expectations are met.
  • Work alongside diverse engineering groups to foster a culture of compliance with rigorous system performance standards.
  • Provide technical support for requirements definition, software validation, and various design phases.
  • Propose design enhancements to help improve the overall performance and capabilities of integrated weapon systems.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and engineering partners.
  • Maintain clear traceability between software requirements and verification procedures to ensure project integrity.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, including the ability to decompose system requirements into testable software units.
  • Experience utilizing both static and dynamic software testing tools.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages used for software development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate coordination across various engineering departments.
  • Ability to cultivate and sustain productive partnerships with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Demonstrated strength in teamwork, interpersonal communication, and organizational management.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in C, C++, or C#.
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as PC-Lint, LDRA Testbed, and VectorCAST.
  • Experience with DOORS for managing requirements traceability and linking to test procedures.
  • Understanding of military aerospace design and certification standards.
  • Experience in the development and verification of system requirements.
  • Background in supporting preliminary and detailed design phases for software or avionics systems.
  • Experience integrating embedded software into complex aerospace platforms.
  • History of working within multidisciplinary teams on military aviation programs.
