Job summary

Castelion is seeking an Avionics / Electrical Quality Inspector to support development and manufacturing of avionics and electrical assemblies for long-range strike vehicles. The role is hourly, non-exempt, on-site at our Torrance facility, reporting to the Quality organization.

You will inspect avionics, harnesses, and electrically powered hardware, ensure compliance with IPC-A-610/IPC/WHMA-A-620, and support rapid iteration with engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting avionics/electrical assemblies in aerospace/defense.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, harness drawings, electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Experience using inspection and test equipment (multimeters, testers).
• Attention to detail and ability to spot subtle defects.
• Strong communication and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection of avionics and electrical assemblies.
• Inspect hardware to IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, drawings, and internal standards.
• Verify routing, terminations, pinouts, labeling, and configuration.
• Review certifications, traceability, and lot control docs.
• Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances to teams.
• Collaborate with engineering to interpret drawings and resolve issues.
• Support first article inspections and configuration verification.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and QMS compliance.
• Develop/refine inspection procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Assist audits and government source inspections as required.
