DC Army National Guard seeks an Avionics Mechanic to ensure communications, navigation, and flight-control systems operate reliably for aircraft in training and field operations.

You will perform checks, troubleshoot using manuals, and maintain avionics hardware including wiring and instruments, while contributing to team efforts and safety standards. Paid training and tuition assistance accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Must be enlisted in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details).

Responsibilities

• Perform operational and preventive checks and alignments on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and cryptographic equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment using technical manuals and schematic drawings.
• Inspect and maintain electrical systems that include wiring and electrical connections; repair and/or replace instruments.
• Maintain common/special tools and equipment; keep shop and bench stock for avionics equipment.
